Adding Arbitrary Queue Positions

(from Mo H)

Use Case

CS mappers use Tycho to configure maps.

Queues that need additional positions must have each discrete positioning manually added and realigned by a CS mapper

Ex: Starting queues near induct and wrapping them into the next aisle (Shipmonk Pittston)

Problem

Problem: The mapper can only add 1 queue position at a time. Moving the last position far from the rest of the queue causes the next position to be even farther away.

Impact: The mapper needs to either add and modify 2 positions to avoid this or manually hunt down and fix the next added queue spot. This slows down the process of modifying queues.

Solution

Solution: Improve the “Modify Data” tab to include a manual placement option. When selected, the user will be able to add a queue position that’s already assigned to the correct LP, and will increment on the most previous position number

Impact:

Allows CS mappers to more quickly place queue positions

more time for map enhancements.
