Problem
When there is a short pick for an item, there a few different options a customer may have depending on if there is inventory in a seconday pick location for the item and if so, whether that pick location is pickable from Locus.
Locus currently supports auto-rellocation by WMS adding a order line item and location for the short quantity to be picked from. However, the bot goes directly to exception dropoff or displays "push to exception" if 1) The short pick is the last pick of the mission or 2) The secondary location is outside the Locus area for manual RF picking (in essence a Pick & Pass for the shortage qty).
Proposed Solution
WMS provides a item inventory reallocation flag with following options:
No secondary pick location: Always travel to exception dropoff or "push to exception".
Secondary pick location in Locus: Always travel to seconday location to pick shortage qty. If last pick of mission, wait a defined period a time to receive an auto-reallocation order update from WMS. Travel to the exception dropoff or exception process if the wait time is exceeded.
Secondary pick location outside Locus: Always travel to to exception dropoff or "push to exception" which in this case should indicate this is a pick & pass and what work area the order/tote should be pushed to (e.g., Push to Work Area A).
