From The Dot: I haven't seen this, but there is a question that we kept asking and nobody had it. That blew me away. It is a scale. Why did the robot not have a scale built into it? That seemed like a simple thing. However, maybe the technology side of their business would tell me it's not that simple. Why wouldn't it have a scale so we could do weight verification as it's picking? They you would know how much product was in the tote based on its weight. 'Hey, that was a two-pound item, and you stuck in four pounds. Are you sure you didn't put two in when you told me you put one in?' I was surprised that nobody had that. I kept asking vendors and I kept hearing, 'No, we don't put scales on these devices.' That seemed like a miss."
From Scotts: Some of their orders will exceed bot weight capacity. They can exclude certain orders from Locus but there are times when for some reason this may not capture an overweight order. They want to capture both at Bot and order level.
They are concerned about loading orders that are too heavy and will cause bot performance issues.
Future consideration pending right use case and value to Locus & Customer.
