Wave Status Report

Customer is asking for an order mgmt. tool to ensure orders are picked in FIFO based on when they’re waved. The concern/experience is that orders are carrying each day with no visibility into number of orders or units making it difficult to manage SLA.

Here’s an example of the hourly reporting we would like, or something similar. Waves would have the ability to be tracked to monitor % complete and the ability to “force complete” a wave at the end of the shift to manage SLA expectations.

0600 wave 1a is released 1,000 orders/units

0700 wave 1a has 700 orders/units 30 % complete

0800 wave 1a has 400 orders/units 60% complete

0900 wave 2a is released 1000 orders/units, wave 1a has 200 orders/units and is 80% complete<> a higher priority is assigned to the balance of wave 1a to complete the wave while still utilizing the density of wave 2a to minimize productivity erosion

1000 wave 1a is 100% complete, wave 2a has 500 orders/units and is 50% complete.

This is a hot item for Maersk as we’re in a head-to-head with Fetch on winning this account. Fetch currently has this function, so it’s critical that we can provide similar visibility to order management. Let me know if you have any questions or thoughts on this ask….ideally, we need to provide them something this week, even if it’s still in a test “sandbox” setting to show them we can offer this ability.
