In a case picking application, for example, there needs to be a button on the UI that the user can use to initiate the pallet wrapping process.
This buutton might be presented on screen when the robot is finished picking, and has arrived at a particular location in the building, which is designated for wrapping activities.
With Max and Vector there is a virutal button feature that can detect if a person is standing in a particular place relative to the robot. an object in that location is read as a "button press".
Combined with a button on the UI, a user could tie the shrink wrap to the pallet, press the button on the UI, then step into the area that "presses" the virtual button. In this scenario, the operator is holding a roll of wrap material and it is dispensed as the robot spins. But there are also automatic mast-style pallet wrapping devices and the robot could cooperate with that as well.
Once the virtual button is triggered, the robot should spin in place a number of times (which should be easily configurable by the operator, maybe presented with the "wrap" button).
This action is shown at 1:10 in this video: https://waypointrobotics.com/resource/mav3k-pallet-moving/
When the spin cycle is finished, the robot stops and waits for the operator to tear off the roll of wrap material, then press a button on the UI to confirm that they are done with the wrapping activity.
Once wrapping is finished a button to "proceed to drop off" could be presented, and the bot could proceed to its drop off location.
Problem/opportunity trying to be solved
Customers frequently wrap palles in shrink wrap after picing pallets. This is a time consuming and annoying process because it requires lots of loading un unloading. Or it's ridiculously manual and phisically burdensome. Or there are huge monument installations of conveyors and automated wrapping systems. |

Quantify the problem/opportunity
pallet wrapping hardware is very expensive and the time spent doing it is very expensive. eliminating the hardware costs, space allocated, and time spent would be very valuable. |

What is the root cause of the problem/opportunity
