Outside cart markers for cart location and selection by robots

If we had a separate, different "class" of markers that could be designated for marking the external surfaces of the carts, then the bots could read the cart IDs as they are driving by.

This would enable ALL of the bots in the fleet to monitor the precise location of all the carts as they drive by them.

This would also enable a Vector to look for a specific cart among many carts that are lined up next to each other, and then vector could hitch onto the specific cart once it finds it.

This feature could also be used to pre-align to a cart without having to have specific waypoints defined, and could enable more reliable hitching even if there is a waypoint-approach being used. For example -- if the markers were located on the front and back side of the wide side of the cart, then vector could align to those markers, and then plan its docking approach based on its relative position to the cart, rather thanthe vector's relative position to building, which counts on the cart to be in the right relative spot of the building.

Problem/opportunity trying to be solved

carts can not be identified unless the robot is under them. it would be handy to identify them from the "outside" of the cart

Quantify the problem/opportunity

any facility that uses carts

What is the root cause of the problem/opportunity

The cart markers used by Vector to precisely align to the cart prior to hitching to the cart using Lift. These markers are deliberatly designed to only be visible (the bot needs to see a pair of markers for a valid ID) only when the bot is lined up in front of the markers
