Provided the WMS can supply the necessary data, the printers should be able to generate multiple labels at a single pick location based on a per-piece pick of multiple duplicate items.
Problem/opportunity trying to be solved
At the point of pick, we may be picking multiple duplicate items that are ultimately going to different customers, requiring a different label be applied to each individual item rather than a batch. We are told Locus cannot currently print multiple labels for a single stop |

Quantify the problem/opportunity
The current opportunity is for upwards of 60 bots and will not be possible without this functionality. |
|
What is the root cause of the problem/opportunity
This functionality is required for our solution to be feasible compared to the manual picking the customer currently does, where pick tickets and labels are generated for the picker |

Both Batch and Discrete are in-scope. The label provided by the customer is truly just an informational sku label and does not contain shipping or customer specific information.
Hayden
Is this a batch or discrete workflow? We are unclear why there would be no variation, as different customers will order different qtys of which would need to be reflected in what is printed. We'll set up a call with you to ask a few questions before we pass to engineering.
Attached is an example label, currently printed prior to beginning the pick route. It contains info regarding the manufacturer, color, size, material type, etc (provided by the WMS). They have two types of labels today, with the only difference (to our knowledge) being the label stock used (heat applied vs stickered).
Current: Each label is printed in pick sequence, used as a pick list, and applied to the unit during picking. Multiple units from the same location = multiple labels spooled in sequence.
Future: This is an open discussion with the customer. We've discussed the pros/cons of "Pre-Printing" vs "Print at Pick" vs "Print at Pack" with them and are waiting for a WMS evaluation. For this feature, we are focused on "Print at Pick" and require the ability to print a label x times where x = pick qty at location. We currently assume that the same label is printed and no variation is required when printing multiple for the same sku. That said, is it possible to print multiple labels with different content at one location today?
Let me know if I can provide more details.
We have the ability to print multiple labels per stop today. David - Can you please describe in details what would be on the labels at a stop.
