Larger Conveyor Top for Max Robot

Larger conveyor top to accommodate larger, oddly sized pallets

Problem/opportunity trying to be solved

Graham Packaging has large, oddly shaped pallets that do not fit onto our planned Max Conveyor Top

Quantify the problem/opportunity

According to Susann & Jason, there are 40 potential sites that could use our Max robots if we had a larger conveyor top

-Please contact Susann Mitton to speak on the opportunity size

What is the root cause of the problem/opportunity

The size of Graham Packaging's pallets are too large for the planned Max conveyor top

The pallets that Graham is using are W=45.275” x L=55.9”.

Martin advised that the maximum acceptable pallet dimensions on a Max conveyor top in its current state would be W=42” x L=48”.

This is the general guidance that Martin gave for acceptable pallet sizing:

Pallet Grades & Sizes
Conveyor to support the following pallets:
Grade B or better
- Repaired stringers
- Block/plug repairs acceptable
- Block/plugs can be in various locations & various lengthsGMA Pallets:
- 48” X 40” (48” length aligned with longitudinal robot axis)
- 42” X 42” [Tele-comm & paint]
- 48” X 42” [Chem & Beverage]
- 40” X 40” [Dairy]
- 36” X 36” [Beverage]
- 48” X 20” [Retail]
- 30” X 30” [Industrial]European:
- Note stringers are in length direction- 47.25” X 31.5” [EUR & EUR 1]
- 47.25” X 39.4” [EUR 2]
- 31.5” X 24” [EUR 6]POD style pallets of various sizesOut of scope:
- No broken/missing bottom boards. Flush nail heads only.- Understood that running GMA pallets w/ 48” dim parallel to longitudinal axis of robot makes stringers parallel to rollers. Spoke with several conveyor companies and confirmed they are confident with performance assuming we hold the 2.5” diameter roller on 3” pitch.
