Increase pick accuracy together with Digilo

This is a solution with beams that via a mobile device on the wrist are confirming if an item is placed in the correct tote.


Could this be an interesting solution to offer?


Problem/opportunity trying to be solved

Rhenus is maybe not the only customer who has confirmed their pick accuracy has been going down using the bots. They are keeping track per mode of picking how many issues are occurring and the number is the highest with the bots. Rhenus is trying to find option to reduce the picking errors.

Quantify the problem/opportunity

Despite the visualization available, it is very easy to make mistakes. Even warehouse/OPS management stated that they easily make mistakes when picking and for whatever reason get confused. The picking mistakes have double in number of occurrences.

What is the root cause of the problem/opportunity

In comparison to conventional picking where you need to scan the tote you pick into, this is not necessary with the bots. All they do is confirming the quantity and from visualization the pickers need to get it right and put the item in the right tote.

The root cause is that it is quite easy to accidently put the item in the wrong tote. They said by training it is not going to really take away the mistakes as they need to have different solutions.
