The user would pick an item, scan it, then scan the container ID where that item is to be picked to (either by Proglove or using the iPad scanner), our UI would confirm validation of container ID scan, the user would then confirm the qty and continue. Invalid scan of the container ID would prompt another scan or enter of the ID manually until the correct value is entered.
Problem/opportunity trying to be solved
The customer has a singles flow where they apply the container ID direct to the item picked. Their WMS has a limitation that requires there to be 1 container ID per single order picked, they are not able to assign multiple singles orders to 1 container ID. It is therefore very important that the correct item is picked to the correct container ID. Having a validation step after picking an item to scan the container ID, will help ensure this accuracy. The additional complexity is that they would only like this setting applied to their singles flow, so needs to be configurable by order type / container type. |

Quantify the problem/opportunity
I imagine a lot of customers who prioritise pick accuracy would appreciate this functionality. We have found that ensuring pick accuracy may open up significant value to customers, as they could potentially require less touch points for an order to get it out of the building (e.g. via automated packing). Having it configurable by flow would be an added useful option. |

What is the root cause of the problem/opportunity
The customer has a limitation on their WMS that requires a 1:1 assignment of container ID to singles order. They require assurance that they have applied the right container ID to the right physically picked item. |
