Attached is a slide depicting the GOH solution designed in-house by Louis Vuitton in the EU. The design consists of a removable device that sits directly on the armature of the robot (making it independent of tray size). A standard tote sits on the robot tray to contain the hanging items and avoid overhang or dragging.
The GOH solution is inducted to the robot just like a normal tote array with a single scan inducting multiple orders.
Problem/opportunity trying to be solved
Many of our clients require the ability to effectively pick GOH items without folding in a bin. Current solutions of hanging directly on the armature can cause items to fall off of the bot or drag on the floor. |
|
Quantify the problem/opportunity
In 90% of the opportunities including GOH, we remove the volume out of Locus scope and request they pick it manually unless it can be folded. Depending on customer, this could be >30% of their total daily volume resulting in a decreased robot fleet. |
|
What is the root cause of the problem/opportunity
There is not currently a consistent "Locus approved" way of picking GOH to the bots. Each customer requires a custom solution which results in increased lead times for each deployment. |

Hayden reached out on 6/3 with the following:
We have a fast moving prospect in the US (Carbel) that could benefit from something like this and have a September go live. It is not a blocker per se, but the deal and implementation would improve with similar hardware.
What’s the potential volume need to support this customer?
Louis Vuitton
Geodi is also listed within the card.
[HS] Pick Volume: ~3,600 Units per Day up to 6,000 Units per Day at peak. Total bots: 37 off-peak – 62 Peak
From your standpoint is there any other customer(s) who may be interested in this?
Is yes who and est. volume
[HS] See above, but any customer with potential GOH picking would benefit from this solution.
Would the concept noted within the card meet our other customers need?
[HS] This would allow customers to easily fulfill GOH Only orders, but does not address GOH + other items mixed on a bot.
Put this on our future accessory list. No date scheduled for this at this time.
