Hope you are doing well. I have a question/request for one of our sites. Current state the site is configured to not allow short/partial picks. Therefore, when a picker is at a location they either pick all or nothing. I am wondering if there is a setting or configuration on your end that would allow for partial line pick for singles batch orders but keep the all or nothing logic for multi/discrete picks? The operation is running into the issue where the picker is asked to pick 19 of the same SKU and 19 do not fit in the tote. They have to short the 19 units vs picking the 8 that would fit in the tote. Since the other configuration is set up, Tote full logic doesn’t allow us to partially pick 19 of the same SKU. So is there an option to allow a short within the same line/task for singles totes but keep the other logic for multi orders?
Below are some examples of what I am describing above. This is specifically for same line/task shorts.
Current State (Singles Picks):
Picker arrives at a location and robot ask for 20 of the same SKU.
20 units do not fit in the tote
Picker has to decrement to zero
Tasks are left pending in the WMS
Future State (Singles Picks):
Picker arrives at location and robot asks for 20 of the same SKU
8 units are picked because that is what fits in the tote.
Picker picks 8 and shorts 12 units.
Picker hits tote full and 12 units are recirculated and can be picked with another robot.
