Ability to pose Vector and Origin differently at Pick Faces
Problem/opportunity trying to be solved
Sam's Club will be deploying a mixed fleet of Vectors and Origin bots. During the pilot that we ran, this caused issues for the Vector bots having to assimilate into the pick positions of Origin. The MOST IDEAL pick position for one robot is not the MOST IDEAL pick position for the other robot. It would be of huge benefit for mixed fleet operations to be able to choose different picking poses for each robot. |
|
Quantify the problem/opportunity
Problem: we cannot create ideal pick positions for our robots when we have to use the same for both Vector and Origin. Opportunity: the ability to implement a seamless mixed fleet at several operations. Sam's Club ARR at ORD site after Vector implementation: $2,000,000 Additional e-clubs: Lumberton, Worcester, Tampa Bay, Memphis |
|
What is the root cause of the problem/opportunity
Inability to give Vector and Origin both optimal pick positions at pick faces. |

@Mitchell Bluford Is this mandatory for this project? RST is going to target regions for 24.2 but there is no release between 24.2 and January 25th. 2025. The next release would be in March and that has not gone through the grooming process.
FRD has been created around features by robot type. The team is targeting regions in 24.2 as the other features are more complicated and will need more time to explore how to solve.
