Create users with different levels of access to the bot's iPad in picking, depending on the user's position

One of the reasons why they need this functionality is that the DHL Bergkamen client does not allow sending incomplete orders to the client (it does not make sense that if you are going to send a wardrobe to the client, you only send one of the parts, since without the complete wardrobe I could not do anything).

For this reason, they want to prevent users from SHORT a pick (or indicating that there are not enough units) and sending an incomplete task to dropoff/exception, since Short Picks cancel an order in the system for IKEA.

In these cases, DHL wants a shift manager, and not a normal associate, to decide if a pick can be skipped as an exception.

In general, if IKEA sends a task, it is because there is enough of that reference in inventory. It could happen that the replenishment has not been carried out, and therefore the pick cannot be made.

In this way, if the shift manager had a special tag, he could access, and validate that order, once he corroborated the specific casuistry of that pick.

Problem/opportunity trying to be solved

Currently, the DHL client requests to have two different types of tags, so that when they approach a bot, depending on the position they have, they can access different permissions.

Quantify the problem/opportunity

This is an IKEA requirement. They do not allow incomplete orders to be sent, and it is assuming a very large rework internally, and manually, to be able to manage incomplete orders.

What is the root cause of the problem/opportunity

IKEA's own business model prevents sending incomplete orders, which will surely happen not only at the DHL Bergkamen plant (Germany), but also, DHL Illescas (Spain), whose client is also IKEA:
